Production Chef Level 2
This Level 2 Apprenticeship is designed for Production chefs that work as part of a team in time-bound and often challenging kitchen environments, for example; schools, hospitals, the Armed Forces, care homes and high street casual dining or pub kitchens.
Apprentices achieving this standard will be expected to demonstrate a good knowledge and ability to perform kitchen operations to legal and industry standards, understand and implement nutritional and dietary adjustments, support the business ethos, work with colleagues and actively support their personal development.
Who is this Apprenticeship suited for?
This Apprenticeship is designed for learners in a chef-based role, including:
· Kitchen Cook
· Sous / Pastry Chef
· Commis Chef
The minimum duration of this Apprenticeship is a minimum of 12 months.
Employers must be prepared to provide the learner with the opportunity to carry out work, learning and be part of projects which will support and enable the learner to produce substantial evidence towards their qualification.
To support Apprenticeship achievement, we request that employers play a hands-on role throughout the duration, participating in joint reviews at regular intervals. We also encourage employers to actively engage with the Apprentice and ourselves to discuss progress, identify any additional learning or potential issues or concerns that may arise.
Remote / Workplace
Apprentices must achieve Level 1 Functional Skills Maths & English and take the tests for level 2 prior to taking the end-point assessment unless they can provide proof of exemption (GCSE Equivalent A* & C)
