Senior Production Chef Level 3
The Level 3 standard for the Senior Production Chef is designed for chefs that may lead a brigade team or may support the head chef in larger establishments. They report activities to the Head chef or appropriate line manager. They supervise production chef teams in a variety of kitchen environments, for example, schools, hospitals, the Armed Forces, care homes and high street casual dining or pub kitchens.
Apprentices achieving this standard will be expected to display and reflect on their accountability for the day-to-day running of the kitchen service, producing, monitoring and maintaining consistent food standards, legislative requirements and quality across all areas and during all stages of production and supply.
Who is this Apprenticeship suited for?
This Apprenticeship is designed for learners in a chef-based role, including:
· Head Chef
· Second Chef
· Kitchen Manager / Supervisor
The minimum duration of this Apprenticeship, not including EPA is a minimum of 12 months.
Employers must be prepared to provide the learner with the opportunity to carry out work, learning and be part of projects which will support and enable the learner to produce substantial evidence towards their qualification.
To support Apprenticeship achievement, we request that employers play a hands-on role throughout the duration, participating in joint reviews at regular intervals. We also encourage employers to actively engage with the Apprentice and ourselves to discuss progress, identify any additional learning or potential issues or concerns that may arise.
Remote / Workplace
Achievement of Production Chef Level 2 or 12-months industry experience are required. Apprentices must achieve Level 2 Functional Skills Maths & English prior to taking the end-point assessment unless they can provide proof of exemption (GCSE Equivalent A*- C)
